While at KingTec studio, top Zambian singer Yo Maps took a break from recording to school his fellow artist on how music should be treated. This was seen in a video where he was chatting with Selemanyo, producer KingTec and one other.

In trying to make his peers understand, the singer used an example of people who sell phones, as he stated that they go to order phone and then come back to sell with interest. So, artists should take studio sessions as ‘ordering,’ aiming to have a final ‘song’ that people would want to listen to.

“You can’t be selling a phone at 15,000, then a customer wants to buy at 2,000. When you ordered at 11,000, you were hoping to make some profit,” said the singer as he tried to explain how collaborations should work in efforts to avoid over subsidizing their services.
